Toontrack release new SDX Bundles

Toontrack have announced the release of two new SDX bundles, combining the New York Studio series and The Foundry series expansion packs at a great price.

About Toontrack :

Sometimes things happen that exceed your wildest expectations. As in the case of Toontrack. What began as an experiment ended up as Drumkit From Hell – a collection of drum sounds that would come to change the face of the industry. “We just wanted great sounding drums for our own songwriting. We had no aspirations of even selling it in the first place”, says Mattias Eklund, Toontrack’s co-founder.

That was some fifteen years ago. But instead of being a two-man operation and having an “office” in the bedroom of Mattias’ apartment, Toontrack now employs almost 30 people in four countries and continues to spearhead innovation of creative tools for songwriters around the world.

We believe our success and legacy boils down to a few simple things: our love for music, craft and sound. That’s what the company is founded on and that’s what we bring to work every day. “At Toontrack, we’re all songwriters and musicians. It’s a privilege to develop tools that we have as much creative use of as our customers”, says Mattias.

Toontrack New York Studios SDX Bundle

NEW YORK STUDIOS VOL.1 SDX

This is the classic core library from Superior Drummer 2, a collection of sounds that over the years have become an industry staple used by countless top producers and heard on major label records, in commercials and movie scores. It was recorded at the legendary Avatar Studios, a classic New York studio especially known for its amazing tone for drums. Since its inception in the 1970s, Avatar has recorded bands and artists like Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Journey, Kings of Leon and The Clash.

NEW YORK STUDIOS VOL.2 SDX

The Allaire Studios and The Hit Factory. These two landmark facilities have hosted the who’s who of popular music for decades – anything from David Bowie to Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones and Paul Simon. Since the recording of these sound libraries, both studios have tragically closed their doors to the public and thus, the legacy of their signature sound lives through their respective body of work, but now also vicariously through these very drum recordings.

NEW YORK STUDIOS VOL.3 SDX

In the third volume, we revisit the Avatar Studios to bring you a new collection of drums, completely different from the ones available in the first volume. Combined, these two recordings give you a broad palette of drums recorded in one of the world’s premier locations.

Toontrack The Foundry SDX Bundle

THE METAL FOUNDRY

The first and now classic title in the ‘Foundry’ suite was recorded and produced at the Atlantis Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, by Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake together with engineers Mattias Eklund (Toontrack), Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah) and Daniel Bergstrand (Dugout Studio). With all thinkable dimensions, depths, widths, brands and materials of instruments, this collection provides a uniquely broad palette of sound.

THE PROGRESSIVE FOUNDRY

This SDX was recorded at the renowned Sing Sing Recording Studios in Melbourne, Australia, by engineer/producer Forrester Savell and drummer Steve Judd (Karnivool). With drums scoured from all four corners of Australia, all captured with top tier microphones and rare outboard, this SDX gives you the best of vintage and modern recorded in a perfectly crafted room.

THE ROCK FOUNDRY

This SDX was recorded by engineer/producer Bob Rock at The Warehouse in Vancouver, BC. In addition to the seven individual kits, a large selection of extra snares, kicks and cymbals are provided, making The Rock Foundry SDX an incredibly versatile source of raw sound material – all captured in the large, reverberant hall of The Warehouse.
