The Oxium 1.5 update includes a redesigned Double Filter Block (that is easier to locate and identify), relocated KEYB/FX/INFO toggle buttons (to the right of the keyboard), a third skin (Ice, complimenting the original Orange and Rusty ones), and much more besides, Oxium 1.5 benefits from several well-thought-through new features to further increase its functionality and musicality, benefitting both existing users and all-new adopters alike.

More than 10 new modulation targets have been implemented, including both mixers’ global levels, as well as all oscillator levels and noise source levels in each of those mixers. Additionally, each Mask now has its own elementary envelope, elements of which have also been added as modulation targets. Meanwhile, Mask functionality and usability has been dramatically increased and improved, thanks to MultiSelection and MultiEdition selection options of continuous or discontinuous Masks for speedy simultaneous editing. New Select ALL, Select ODD, and Select EVEN toggle buttons are available for this very purpose. Moreover, Mask Locators now gradually change colour when approached while onscreen editing, making it easier to grab them to change their lengths without running the risk of accidentally moving them. Thanks to these new Oxium 1.5 developments, Masks can easily be adapted to quickly create complex grooves and sophisticated syncopated music material — mimicking old-school step sequencers or gating techniques, and much more besides!

The Oxford Dynamics plug-in is modeled on the extremely flexible and capable unit used in the OXF-R3 professional mixing console. SPAN is a real-time “fast Fourier transform” audio spectrum analyzer plugin for professional music and audio production applications. For the most part it was derived from Voxengo GlissEQ dynamic parametric equalizer and reproduces its spectrum analysis functionality.

Sinevibes has released Torsion, a monophonic Audio Unit instrument plugin built upon a combination of multiple synthesis technologies and modulation sources.

Reinvented classics
At first glance, Torsion’s sound structure is similar to a traditional subtractive synthesiser – three oscillators going into a low-pass filter and into an amplifier. But Torsion’s oscillators produce simple additive waves based on just a few partials, which are then enriched with spectral content using a technique called waveshape modeling.

There is also a ring modulator and an audio-range oscillator for filter FM.
Torsion features as many as four separate LFO generators – one for each oscillator and one for the filter and output amplifier. In addition to precise synchronisation, each LFO cycle can be self-randomised, which makes the modulation rhythmical yet non-repetitive. There are also two AHDSR envelope generators, as well as a two-dimensional chaos oscillator.

The interface of Torsion is designed with high-contrast, colour coded elements. It also includes graphic representations for every building block – oscillator waves, LFO phases, envelope shapes and filter spectrum all change as the user modifies them.

Audiffex has announced the release of Multi Drive Pedal, the first product of its new plug-in series, the Guitar Line.

Multi Drive Pedal features a selection of eight well-known drive pedals. Unlike the original Audiffex Pedals, all new algorithms exactly model real hardware and take every part of the original schematic into consideration.

Flux have started to release their first AAX (Native & DSP) and 64-bit compatible versions of their software, built on their latest 64-bit version 3 framework, hereafter called v3. First out is the FREE BitterSweet v3 Transient Designer, and the Elixir v3 True Peak Limiter, and now when they have the framework ready, they are aiming at having all our software ported and available within Q1 this year.
 
The v3 framework improves the performance dramatically (measured 500-1000 percent improvement for Elixir depending on host environment!) and for the graphic rendering the v3 framework includes our GPU-efficient 2D/3D graphic engine, first introduced in the Pure Analyzer System, based on the OpenGL standard optimizing the audio-to-visual experience utilizing the GPU on the computer’s built in graphics card.
 
The update to the 64-bit compatible and to the AAX Native version (AU/VST/AAX Native) is Free of charge for all current owners of Elixir, and can be downloaded when logged in to the customer download area on the Flux website. If you’re not using Elixir yet, a dongle free trial version is available on their download page as well.
 

Circuit from Sinevibes is an Audio Unit effect plugin for multiband waveshape modelling. Waves GEQ_Classic

In response to user requests, Waves Audio has announced support for the AAX Native plugin platform. Waves has always strived to support as many plugin platforms as possible, including VST, RTAS, TDM, AudioUnits and others. With this new development, Waves plugins now support the AAX platform, used by Avid HDX systems.
