Version : 1.00
Author : Niall Moody (niallmoody@yahoo.co.uk)

CPU Usage : 0.01% > ~31% (depends on number of particles active, tested on a 2.8GHz P4)
Description :
Particle Fountain is a monophonic synth which generates a simplistic particle fountain and then attaches each particle to an oscillator. The x-y position of the particle then determines certain characteristics of the oscillator: the x-axis determines the panning and the frequency of the oscillator, and the y-axis determines it's volume. There can be up to 200 particles (and therefore, 200 oscillators) active at one time, though the more particles you have, the higher your CPU usage will be. There are two simplistic waveforms available: sawtooth and square wave. The Y-Axis Offset control determines how high up the y-axis the particles begin - this can act as a kind of attack envelope. The Energy control determines how fast the particles move - this can act as a decay envelope (higher settings = particles fall away faster, lower settings = particles take longer to fall away). The Angle control determines how how far along the x-axis the particles will travel.

Oh, and it should also respond to MIDI program change messages, and MIDI velocity.

This means you can copy it, give it to your friends, reverse-engineer it, and use it in whatever way you like, basically. It would be cool if you let us know if you ever have a number 1 using it though :) Oh, and we'd prefer if you didn't change the graphics and try and pass it off as your own work...
The one thing you CANNOT do is sell it for profit - we do this for our own pleasure and don't make any money from it, so neither should you. If you want to include it on a magazine cover CD or with a hardware VST box (e.g. Plugzilla etc.) though, that's fine, just let us know first.
Also, we don't take any responsibility for any damage it might cause your system, though if you let us know about any problems you have, we'll do our best to rectify them (see e-mail address above).
