Sonoma Wire Works Presents Higginspack For Drumcore

For DrumCore, Sonoma Wire Works has released HigginsPack, a new DrummerPack featuring the talents of Terence Higgins, the pro drummer for The Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

HigginsPack offers DrumCore users New Orleans marching style drum loops, variations, fills, and drum kit sounds with a bit of hip-hop, funk, R&B, and soul. With this new DrummerPack, you can do as Higgins suggests and add a little grease to your tracks.

Since HigginsPack was recorded by the original Submersible Music team and pre-configured by them with metadata for use with the DrumCore search engine, you can search the new pack to find content based on feel (straight, shuffle, and so forth), time signature, tempo, and other specific criteria.

The 3.5 GB DrummerPack includes 7 types of DrumKits with 24 pads each that match 7 GrooveSets (360 audio loops, 427 audio fills, 97 MIDI loops, and 41 MIDI fills). The GrooveSets group related beats, variations, and fills to serve as construction kits for assembling songs easily and quickly (see the GrooveSet descriptions below). All audio is of 24-bit, 48 kHz quality, created in a professional studio using digital (Avid ProTools HD3) and analog (Neumann, Neve, and so forth) recording equipment.

Take a look at the seven GrooveSets of audio loops, MIDI grooves, and fills:

  • Bourbon Street Strut: a traditional slice of New Orleans march with intricate rolled snares and bouncing toms (70 and 130 BPM)
  • Dirty Dumpster: a trashy, choppy breakbeat groove with funky snare work and sloppy hats, ideal for hip-hop (70 to 120 BPM)
  • Fix The Levee: funky rhythms played on a poppy kit, best played at faster tempos (70 to 130 BPM)
  • Go Go Grease: upbeat and swingy for multiple genres including pop, hip-hop, and R&B (70 to 120 BPM)
  • Nolafied: a laid-back, funky breakbeat that only “The Big Easy” could provide (70 to 130 BPM)
  • Swampburn: thick and murky “Nawlins” march beats heavy on snares and toms (70 to 130 BPM)
  • Zigawho: another funky beat with snare variations, start and stop breakdowns, and splashy cymbals (60 to 110 BPM)

HigginsPack requires DrumCore 2 or higher and is available now for $79.99 (DVD hard copy) or $69.99 (download) from the DrumCore Web site, drumcore.com.
