Soundation Studio’s current collection of loops and samples just got significantly larger — PowerFX has added 5,000 loops to the Web-based music making application, Soundation Studio, in the form of the new Premium sound library.
Users of Soundation Studio can access the new PowerFX loops by going to the Premium area of the Soundation Web site and searching for certain sounds. A “match tempo” search allows the system to automatically search for loops in the BPM of the current track, or perform a search for a specific key. From within the online application, you can search and audition all sounds in the Premium library before purchasing them, and once purchased, you can then drag and drop any of the loops directly into Soundation Studio.
These new loops have been selected from PowerFX’s many sound libraries to include a diversity of sounds, including orchestral loops, rare and exotic instruments, street sounds, club-ready sounds, and sounds for the studio. All Premium sound loops include a royalty-free license that extends to any type of production. According to the manufacturer, PowerFX sounds have been heard on productions by Timbaland, Jay-Z, Rhianna, Usher, Fort Minor, Brandy, The Streets, Thievery Corporation, and many other artists.
For those not familiar with Soundation, the site makes a complete sound library and music-creation studio available in a convenient online format. You can work with sounds and make tracks in your Web browser, and even store your work and loops online as well.
Soundation currently offers some free Soundation Studio content, which includes over 500 loops, 4 virtual instruments, and 11 real-time effects. PowerFX’s Premium loops are not free, however; the 5,000 loops may be accessed via a Premium Soundation Studio license, which is available for 95 EUR (approximately $125) for a year, or 9.90 EUR (approximately $13) per month. According to PowerFX, the Premium library will increase in size and selection over time.
