Now that Big Fish Audio has released Solid State — a sample library featuring vintage preset keyboards and electro-mechanical devices — you don’t have to prowl forum sites and Vintage Synth Explorer to experience rare keyboards. Although samples can in no way compete with owning the real thing, having some sounds is better than having no sounds, no?
The Solid State sample collection takes you on a journey to another age, an excursion deep into a retro world of vintage keyboards that don’t often see the light of day, notes Big Fish Audio. This collection comes packed with several decades’ worth of hard to find synthesizers, combo organs, electric pianos, and other assorted electro-mechanical keyboard instruments, that most performers and music makers usually only dream about owning. A total of 22 keyboards (see full list below) were sampled off for this library.
Each synth is sampled dry, then presented in numerous effected patches that stretch the boundaries of what was initially possible with the original synths. Solid State includes classic names like Crumar, Elka, Farfisa, Hohner, and RMI, all professionally sampled and ready to use. In addition, this unique library features 2 GB of total content with 22 keyboards and 464 patches in all.
