In case you didn’t get your fill of crystal glass sounds the first time around with the collection Crystal Glasses and Meditation Bowls, Bolder Sounds has released yet another sample library of crystalline tones — Crystal Glasses Volume 2. Powered by Native Instruments Kontakt, Crystal Glasses Volume 2 features the recorded sounds of six different groupings of crystal glasses, played over a period of three years by its developer.
Crystal Glasses Volume 2 builds upon the first volume’s features by adding more glasses and articulations in 24-bit stereo, instead of 16-bit mono, which was standard at the time of the first release. Groups of glasses were recorded in various ways, with a number of different articulations. Pictured on left is just one group of glasses out of the six sets that were sampled.
This new Crystal Glasses Volume 2 library offers 24-bit stereo samples, round-robin sampling, numerous articulations, and the following expressive features:
- Hit Crystal Glasses: features three round-robins per sample zone
- Soft Hit Crystal Glasses: features two round-robins per sample zone
- Singing Crystal Pads: played with a wet finger along the rim of the glass
- Granular Crystal Pads: ethereal pads created via granular synthesis
- Bowed Crystal Glasses: includes both short and long articulations
- Crystal Morphs: Kontakt multi instruments that morph between individual instruments
- Extensive scripting for Kontakt: provides an elegant and intuitive, glassy user interface
- Extra features: Help menu built into the Kontakts front panel
- Format: 24-bit stereo samples in WAV format

The Crystal Glasses Volume 2 library requires a full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 3 or higher. Note that the free Kontakt Player will only run for 30 minutes in Demo mode. Within Kontakt, you can play these crystal glasses and use your resulting compositions and noodling in nearly any type of musical genre.
